Following the EU Court of Justice ruling on FIFA’s regulations on the transfer of football players, known as the Diarra case, world football’s governing body has opened a dialogue on Article 17 and transfer regulations.
An initiative to facilitate a global and open forum with key stakeholders and the wider football community, with interested parties able to submit their proposals until 15 November 2024, with FIFA looking forward to constructive engagement.
As an initial step, it has already invited key stakeholders, including representatives from the European Club Association (ECA), FIFPRO and the World Leagues Association, to analyze the conclusions to be drawn from the European Court of Justice’s decision in the Diarra case.
