Cheryl Cole is heartbroken after the ex Liam Paynethe death of … calling the tragic update an “indescribably painful moment” for her and her son, Bear.
The British singer posted to Instagram on Friday, 2 days after the One Direction alum fatally fell from a balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina… confessing that she is struggling with her grief after “this devastating event.”
She asked fans to be respectful of Liam… reminding her followers that the late pop star was more than a celebrity.
Cheryl continued… “He was a son, a brother, an uncle, a dear friend and a father to our 7-year-old son. A son who now has to face the reality of never seeing his father again.”
The Girls Aloud alum dated Liam between 2016 and 2018… welcoming their son in March 2017.
Later in her note, Cheryl called out “abhorrent reports and media exploitation” that were “the most disturbing to (her) spirit”… as her son may one day see the contents.
She added… “It breaks my heart even more that I cannot protect you from this in your future. I implore you to consider the usefulness of some of these reports, as well as causing further harm to all those left behind in the pieces.”
Cheryl signed off her statement with a request for others to show Liam “what little dignity he has left” so he can “rest in peace.”
Liam was declared dead at the Hotel CasaSur Palermo in Buenos Aires on Wednesday after falling from the balcony of his third-floor hotel room. A police official later claimed that the singer “jumped from his bedroom balcony”… although an investigation is still ongoing.
He was only 31 years old.
