To attend the group meeting BRICS in Kazan next week, he invited the president of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas Russia, as announced today Vladimir Putin.
Putin reiterated that Moscow supports the two-state solution for the Middle East and that this issue will be discussed at the summit. He added that he himself he is in contact with Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
Also open to entry from other countries
The BRICS, a group of emerging nations that includes Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, has recently expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran and the United Arab Emirates.
As the Russian president highlighted, the group is open to entry from other countries and no country wishing to join will be excluded.
Speaking to reporters, he also commented that cooperation between Russia and China has been one of the main factors in promoting global stability.
