The assassination of Hamas leader Yahya Shinwar marks “the beginning of the post-Hamas day,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in a statement.
“Hamas will no longer govern Gaza,” promises Netanyahu in a video statement. “This is the beginning of the post-Hamas day and this is an opportunity for you, the people of Gaza, to finally be freed from their tyranny.”
Referring to the families of the hostages, Netanyahu says this is “an important moment” in the war. “We will continue with all our strength until the return of all your loved ones, who are our loved ones.”
Netanyahu then addressed the citizens of Gaza: “Sinowar has ruined your lives. He said it was a lion, but in fact it was hiding in a dark pit. And he was killed when he fled in panic from our soldiers.”
“To the Hamas terrorists I say: your leaders are leaving and will be eliminated,” noted the Israeli prime minister.
At the same time, he emphasized that those who are holding hostages will be able to live if they lay down their weapons and free their captives.
“And at the same time I say, whoever harms our hostages, his blood will be on his own head,” Netanyahu emphasized. “We will come to terms with him.”
Furthermore, the Prime Minister of Israel emphasized that the release of the hostages brings the end of the war closer.
Addressing the people of the Middle East, Netanyahu said there is “a great opportunity to stop the axis of evil and create a different future.”
Furthermore, Netanyahu noted that Sinwar’s assassination makes it clear to critics in Israel and abroad why his government insisted on continuing the war. “Why did we insist, in the face of all pressure, on entering Rafah, the Hamas stronghold where Sinwar and many of the killers hid.”
However, warns the Israeli Prime Minister, the war is not over yet and continues to have a strong impact.
