A Russian army officer, who recently returned from fighting in Ukrainewas murdered in a village in her area Moscow and is suspected of being organized crime, state news agency TASS reported today, citing a police source.
TASS reports that authorities believe the killer was waiting for the officer’s car before attacking him.
The news agency named the victim as Nikita Klenkovwho the independent website Vaznie Istorii (Important Stories) describes as a senior official in the Russian military intelligence service GRU (Main Intelligence Directorate). There was no official confirmation of his identity.
TASS reports that the victim was shot three times from the driver’s side window of the car as he drove, while the vehicle continued moving until it crashed into the fence of a house.
