Without Israeli stands or military items, the international Euronaval exhibition, which deals with naval defense equipment, will take place at the request of the French government.
This exhibition, which is organized every two years, will be held this year in early November north of Paris.
“The French government informed Euronaval on Tuesday, October 15, of its decision to approve the participation of Israeli delegations in the Euronaval 2024 exhibition without stands, nor the presentation of their material”, explained the organizing authority. This decision will affect seven Israeli companies.
“Following the decision of the French government, companies and Israeli citizens who wish to do so will be admitted to the exhibition based on the conditions mentioned above,” he added.
Around 500 companies will be present
Around 500 companies and 22 thousand visitors are expected to participate in the 29th international exhibition, which will take place between November 4th and 7th at the Paris-Nor Villepinte exhibition park, the organizers recalled.
At the end of May, the participation of Israeli companies in the Eurosatory exhibition of land defense equipment was canceled due to the Israeli operation in the Gaza Strip. The presence of Israeli companies was finally allowed by court order.
The Euronaval decision comes at a time when tensions have increased between French President Emmanuel Macron and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu due to military operations in Gaza and Lebanon. Paris calls for a persistent ceasefire on both fronts and denounces what it says are “deliberate” Israeli attacks on UN peacekeeping positions in southern Lebanon.
