Nissan on Wednesday revealed a redesigned Murano crossover that is expected to hit dealerships early next year as a 2025 model.
The fourth generation model replaces the current Murano which has been on sale since 2015 and benefits from a more sophisticated design, inside and out.
It also swaps the Murano’s current 260-hp 3.5-liter V-6 and CVT combo for a 2.0-liter turbo-4 and 9-speed automatic.
The 2.0 liter engine is Nissan’s VC-Turbo design which can vary the engine’s compression ratio to suit performance or economy. The engine is tuned to deliver 241 hp in the Murano 2025and drives just the front wheels as standard or all four with an available all-wheel-drive system. Towing capacity is 1,500 pounds.

The design of the Murano 2025 is very close to the the Nissan Ariyaespecially when it comes to the roof profile and C-pillar design. The same applies to the interior, with the dashboard layout and even some individual elements appearing to have been borrowed from Nissan’s electric crossover.
At the top of the dashboard is a single panel that combines a pair of 12.3-inch digital screens. The infotainment system has Google integrated and supports Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Premium touches, standard or available, include massaging front seats, a color head-up display, a 10-speaker Bose audio system, a surround-view monitor that can display 3D graphics, and transparent hood technology that provides a virtual view through the vehicle compartment. motor for precise positioning of the front wheels.
Nissan also offers its ProPilot automated driver assistance system, which allows hands-free travel in a single lane on highways. The driver still needs to monitor the road at all times and regain control when requested.
Pricing information for the 2025 Murano will be announced closer to market launch.
