Nicole Kidman and Salma Hayek appeared to have an awkward encounter during Paris Fashion Week.
The actresses crossed paths at a Balenciaga fashion show on September 30th.
But video of the confrontation emerged this week. And social media is now abuzz with rumors of a top-flight rivalry.
Nicole Kidman-Salma Hayek Feud: What’s Going On Here?
The footage shows Nicole and Salma engaged in what initially appears to be a friendly conversation on the red carpet.
But the conversation changes when a photographer asks for “one more” photo.
In a video obtained by Page six, Salma puts her hand on Nicole to push her towards the camera.
According to Page six, Kidman then “grabbed Hayek’s hand and pushed her.”
In fact, she gently removed Salma’s hand from her shoulder. But yes, the gesture created the impression that she didn’t like being poked.
A strange interaction
It’s unclear what kind of words were exchanged at that exact moment, but after Nicole walked away, Salma commented, “Yes, please. Advice.”
“You don’t need that,” Nicole responded, prompting Salma to respond, “I do.”
Whatever happened, it seems everyone involved got over it quickly. Nicole continued her progress on the carpet and Salma posed for some photos with Katy Perry.
And if there was beef at any point, it was quickly crushed. On October 1st, Salma posted a photo of her and Nicole at the event.
“Finally, last night, the grand finale of my Paris Fashion Week 2025. Balenciaga and Demna for an incredible show,” she captioned the post.
She also tagged Nicole, Katy and Lindsay Lohan in the caption.
A difficult time
The meeting takes place a few weeks later the death of Nicole’s mother.
The actress received the news during last month’s Venice Film Festival and rushed home to Australia to be with her family.
“My sister and I, along with our family, want to thank you for the outpouring of love and kindness we have felt this week,” Nicole said in a statement released at the time.
“Every message we received from those who loved and admired our Mother meant more to us than we will ever be able to express.”
“Thank you from our entire family for respecting our privacy while looking out for each other.”
Nicole won the best actress award at Venice for her role in Little baby. She, of course, was not present to receive the award.
Obviously, the death of a parent is not something anyone recovers from easily.
But sources close to Nicole say she is doing well and focusing on her family and work.
And with a number of upcoming projects, including the highly anticipated Prime Video series Scarpetta scheduled for the next few months, the beloved star has never been busier.
