The weekendSpotify’s numbers reached blinding heights…’ causing the star to break his own record for monthly listeners on the platform.
The singer-songwriter now has around 120.5 million monthly listeners… ahead of his fellow pop star Taylor Swift who is reportedly the only other artist with over 100 million monthly listeners.
The Weeknd has held the record since breaking 100 million for the first time in February 2023… holding the title in almost every month since it reached its peak value.
It’s been a few weeks for The Weeknd on the streamer…’ his song “After Hours” became the latest member of Spotify’s Billions Membership – songs that have been streamed over 1 billion times.
According to studies, “After Hours” is The Weeknd’s 18th song to break the 1 billion streams limit… more than any other artist.
Of course, he also holds the most streamed song in Spotify history… with 2020 track “Blinding Lights” at the top of all time.
The Weeknd just completed two sold-out shows in Australia… and has two more scheduled for next weekend.
Sources with direct information tell us he’s spending next week in Sydney… and is eager to make the bottom a big gift. We’re told he’s more interested in acting and the music he already has at this point rather than working on anything new.
His name may be The Weeknd, but it seems like fans hear him every day!
