More than 1 billion Leva allocated in 2024 for its public universities Bulgariaaccording to the acting Minister of Education and Science of Bulgaria, Galin Chokov, at the opening of a meeting of the Council of Rectors of the University of Veliko Tarnovo “Saints Cyril and Methodius”.
The ministry emphasized that 807 million levs from the 2024 state budget were allocated to higher education institutions.
“During the year, triple additional funds were allocated for staff salary increases and scholarships for doctoral students,” Chokov said, adding that these additional funds totaled 234 million levs, bringing the total resources allocated to public universities to more of 1.041 billion levs.
At the same time, 200 million levs were allocated for the renovation of student residences.
