Three of the five detained for the incident that occurred yesterday at the Old Philosophical School of AUTH, where students gathered in protest over the fall of an elevator in the 3rd Student Residence of Thessaloniki, blocking the rector of the Institution, Charalambos, are being taken to the Feida Criminal Public Prosecutor’s Office , to leave an event that was happening at the location.
Two of them (a 26-year-old and a 20-year-old) were released following a verbal order from the prosecutor, while the rest were ordered to remain in custody. There are three men aged 20, 21 and 23.
The case presented by the Police includes, as appropriate, the crimes of illegal detention, illegal violence, disturbance of the peace, damage to foreign property, attempted bodily harm and insubordination. The last three acts are related to the throwing of an object at police officers who were called to the scene for the incident with the rector and the refusal of the detainees to submit to fingerprint examination.
