Rolls-Royce Ghost II revealed, facelifted car receives more personalization and styling changes
The Rolls-Royce Ghost has received a facelift, introducing minor design tweaks alongside significant improvements to interior personalization and technology. With the growing demand for personalization, Rolls-Royce has shifted its focus to offering a wide range of bespoke options whilst maintaining the Ghost’s signature luxury and refinement.
Interior customization and material options
One of the standout features of the updated Ghost is the expanded range of materials available for the interior. Customers can now choose from new handcrafted materials such as Gray Stained Ash and Duality Twill.
Gray Stained Ash is meticulously hand-painted ash wood infused with metallic particles, creating a shimmering effect that adds a touch of glamor to the cabin. Duality Twill is an exclusive fabric woven from bamboo, inspired by the ropes used on sailing yachts. This complex material is labor intensive, with a complete interior requiring over 2 million stitches and approximately 17.7 km of line, completed in around 20 hours.
These personalization options meet the growing trend of bespoke interior designs, with the average Ghost buyer spending 10% of the car’s retail price on personalization.
Technology and feature updates
The facelifted Ghost also has improved technology features. The dashboard now includes a glass panel that spans its entire width, offering a sleek, modern look. Additionally, the digital instrument cluster software can be customized to match the car’s exterior color, adding another layer of personalization.
In-vehicle connectivity has also been significantly improved. Rear passengers can now connect up to two streaming devices to their respective screens, and the infotainment system supports wireless headphones. The USB-C ports are also subtly hidden in the center console for added convenience. The audio experience has been updated, with amplifier power increased from 1300W to 1400W, ensuring a more immersive sound system for passengers.
Subtle changes to the exterior styling
On the outside, the Ghost facelift receives subtle but effective styling updates that align it more closely with the Rolls-Royce Cullinan Series II. The front bumper now features a smaller lower grille, while the daytime running lights wrap around the main projector lens for a distinctive look. At the rear, the lights have been updated with a strip design, providing a modern touch without straying from the brand’s iconic design language.
Powertrain and performance
Under the hood, the Ghost continues to offer its robust 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine. The engine comes in two outputs: 563 HP for the standard model and 592 HP for the performance-oriented Black Badge variant. The Black Badge version also receives performance upgrades including a raised braking point, reduced pedal travel and a ‘Low’ drive mode that offers 50% faster gear changes when the accelerator is pressed to 90%.
The Ghost retains its advanced planar suspension system, ensuring the smooth, effortless ride that Rolls-Royce vehicles are known for, regardless of the variant chosen.
India launch schedule
The updated Rolls-Royce Ghost is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months. As demand for luxury vehicles with high levels of personalization continues to grow, the facelifted Ghost will likely attract a discerning clientele looking for both performance and personalization in their luxury vehicles.
