At least 20 people were killed today when gunmen attacked a coal mine in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province, police said.
“In the early hours of the morning, heavily armed men launched an attack on a Junaid Coal Company mine in Duqi district,” said Humayun Khan, a police officer in the district, which is east of the city of Quetta. Among other things, he clarified that rocket launchers and grenades were used.
A doctor at the Duki district hospital confirmed the death toll, adding that six injured people were also treated.
