His death designed as Hezbollah’s new leader, Hashem Safieddinconfirmed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a video.
It should be noted that Safieddin was the target of an airstrike in Beirut last Thursday, with Netanyahu claiming that theIsrael also killed Safieddin’s replacementwithout saying who it would be.
In an English-language video message addressed to the Lebanese public, Netanyahu says Israel has “degraded Hezbollah’s capabilities. We removed thousands of terrorists, including (longtime Hezbollah leader Hassan) Nasrallah himself, and Nasrallah’s replacement and his replacement.”

“Today, Hezbollah is weaker than it has been for many, many years”, says the Prime Minister.
He spends much of his message urging the public to remove the country from Hezbollah’s control.
“Now you, Lebanese people, you are at an important crossroads. The choice is yours,” he continues.
The citizens of Lebanon, Netanyahu notes, “can now take back their country. You can return it to a path of peace and prosperity.”
If they don’t, he argues, “the Hezbollah we will continue to try to fight Israel from populated areas at their expense.”
At the same time, the Israeli Prime Minister stated that the Lebanese “deserve to return Lebanon to its days of calm. you deserve a Lebanon that is different.”
“One country – one flag – one people”he says, borrowing from the original US loyalty pledge. “Don’t let these terrorists destroy your future any more than they already have.”
He urges the Lebanese to “rise up and take back their country.”
“Free your country from Hezbollah to end this war,” he says.
“Free your country from Hezbollah so that your country may prosper again, so that future generations of the children of Lebanon and Israel will not know war nor bloodshed, but will finally live together in peace.”
