“For me, the big winner today is PASOK”, said Nadia Giannakopoulou in her first statements by Harilaou Trikoupi about the electoral result, while when asked if she would support any candidate in the second round, she avoided answering, but spoke of the need for “renewal”.
“Today is a day of victory for PASOK. The 300,000 members and friends who participated in the process conveyed a strong message of reestablishing the Movement within society and of hope and perspective. We take on a great responsibility not to disappoint them and to become that majority current that after October 14th will be a strong opposition and a government worthy of the country whenever elections are held,” he said specifically.
“We have one more week. Of course, whoever will be elected has their value. But what matters most is our unity. It’s the activation of all forces. It’s a lot of work. As far as I’m concerned, I feel like I’ve opened a path which today we see bear fruit. I will be on the front line because that is what I owe to all the citizens who trusted in me”, he added to complete:
“We will fight for our ideas and our positions, for the perception I have of the renewal and strengthening of PASOK to be mainly useful to the country. We will continue together. For me, the big winner today is PASOK”.
