The “glorious” attack carried out on October 7, 2023 against Israel was referred to today by Hamas in a video message broadcast on the eve of the anniversary of the attack, after which war broke out in the Gaza Strip.
“The glorious (attack) of October 7 destroyed the illusions that the enemy had created, convincing the world and the region of its superiority and supposed capabilities,” said Khalil al-Haya, head of the Palestinian Islamic movement, which has the its base in Qatar.

Hamas’ chief negotiator and the organization’s second-in-command in Gaza said the Oct. 7 attack put the Palestinian issue at the top of the world agenda in a televised speech broadcast on Hamas’ Al-Aqsa television network.
At the same time, he stressed that Israel is undermining the talks by saying that a year has passed since the start of the war in Gaza and that Israel is blocking a truce agreement, despite Hamas’ flexibility.
Khalil al-Haya called on countries to stop what he called “double standards” in Gaza and Lebanon.
