Drones loaded with explosives launched from Iraq struck a military base in the northern Golan Heights, killing two Israeli soldiers and wounding 24 others, the Israeli Armed Forces (IDF) said.
Another was shot down by Israeli air defenses.
In addition to the two 19-year-old soldiers killed, 24 others were injured in the attack, including two seriously.
More than 2,000 hits
In another statement, the Israeli army announced that it had struck more than 2,000 locations, including infrastructure and equipment in southern Lebanon, since the start of the ground invasion in the south of the neighboring country against Hezbollah.
“More than 2,000 military targets were hit, including terrorists, infrastructure (…), military buildings, weapons depots,” the army said in a statement.
However, the military said it had killed 250 Hezbollah fighters since the start of the ground offensive.
