BeyonceHer “Cowboy Carter” album may not have been vying for much awards season glory yet, but she could be gearing up for a showdown at the Grammys — the album is rumored to have been submitted for a serious category at next year’s ceremony.
The Recording Academy’s selection committee met last week to decide which albums and songs will compete at the Feb. 2 awards show at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Environment — and Beyoncé’s country album emerged as one of the favorites… and counting. ready to appear in the votes for the Best National Album class, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Furthermore, they would have overcome Sabrina Carpenter as the favorite for Best New Artist, ready to face other possible candidates such as Chappel Roan, Shaboozey, Benson Boone, Teddy swimsand Megan Moroney.
However, as for Queen Bey — her rumored entry for Greatest Nation Album comes seven years after her country hit “Daddy Classes” from 2016’s “Lemonade” received the cold shoulder from the Recording Academy.
However, this time around, B’s country album is among the biggest of the year, so she had a much better chance of being recognized – although let’s not forget the big uproar when she got no nominations at the current CMA Awards, and then was zero for 17 at Folks’s Alternative Country Music Awards last week.
