After much controversy, Alex BaldwinThe film “Rust” is finally gaining attention – its premiere is set for next month at Poland’s EnergaCAMERIMAGE International Cinematography Festival.
Three years after the tragic accidental shooting of the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins – a bullet fired from a loaded gun killed her on set – “Rust” will hit the big screen in the city of Toruń. The event will also feature a special panel in honor of his life.
Director Joel Sousawho was injured in the 2021 accident, will lead the panel. Joining him will be the director of photography Bianca Clinewho intervened to finish the film, and Stephen Lighthillone of Halyna’s film school mentors.

Baldwin reportedly will not attend the “Rust” premiere, according to THR. As for the rest of the cast – Travis Fimmel, Francisco Fisher, John Hopkinsand Patrick Scott McDermott – it is not yet known whether they will appear.
Production on “Rust” stopped after Halyna’s death, but eventually take it back and finishedwith Baldwin and producers moving forward — even with a manslaughter charge hanging over the actor’s head.
