The signing of collective bargaining agreements for 2025 in coastwith increases of 12%, says the Panhellenic Maritime Federation, whose Executive Committee unanimously decided to send out pickets to declare a 48-hour Panhellenic alert strike, with the prospect of escalation, on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday fair, October 23rd.
It should be noted that a meeting was held today between the Administrations of the Association of Passenger Maritime Transport Companies SEEN and the PNO.
“Unfortunately, the meeting was interrupted under the sole responsibility of the employer, following its intransigent attitude. To the 12% increase that our Federation had requested, they counter-proposed a 3% increase for 2025, and also refused to discuss a series of other problems,” the sailors’ union said in a statement.
He also adds that “you cannot ignore the high profitability of companies, the 150 million euros they receive annually from the State fund to subsidize sterile lines, but also the bonus that the Government is preparing for the renewal and modernization of its fleet due to to the famous transition to green maritime transport”.
The Panhellenic Maritime Federation also highlights that with Law 41/50 at the end of October, 50% of the hotel crew will be fired, without even being compensated. He mentions that the 4 months of high-speed trains brought significant changes to the work of colleagues, many of which turned them into “seasonal seafarers”.
