SpongeBob SquarePants has been an institution Nickelodeon 25 years ago. But all this time, its famous “Krabby Patty” has only existed within the show’s fictional universe, where it is the signature restaurant Krusty Krab.
Now finally, SpongeBob fans will be able to try a Krabby Patty. Wendy’s announced today that, in honor of the animated series’ 25th anniversary, it will be offering its own version of the Krabby Patty for a limited time.
THE Press release states that “fans have avidly speculated and imagined what this iconic burger would taste like, and Wendy’s is bringing its Krabby Patty Kollab Burger to land for a limited time, best paired with a pineapple under the sea ice, the first of its kind.” .
Here is how Wendy describes these two items.
- Pineapple under the freezing sea: Wendy’s Pineapple Under the Sea Frosty is the iconic Vanilla Frosty that fans know and love with a swirl of pineapple and mango flavored puree** – a first-ever Frosty flavor innovation.
- Kollab Krabby Patty Burger: Wendy’s version of a Krabby Patty features one pound of fresh, never-frozen Wendy’s beef,*** two slices of melted American cheese, crisp lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions and a top-secret Krabby Kollab sauce on a toasted premium bun.

At least Frosty doesn’t taste like crab.
If you read ScreenCrush regularly, you know that I do my best to try and keep up with any and all foods inspired by movies and TV shows. This is getting harder and harder — because it seems like these collaborations (sorry, these “kollabs”) keep happening more and more frequently. Burger King just announced it’s making a full menu of items around The Addams Familyincluding a Whopper with purple bread. Just a few weeks ago I went to Denny’s and I ate an entire menu of Beetle juice Beetle juice food. No wonder my doctor says he has never seen cholesterol numbers in a living human being like mine.
Anyway, that’s my problem, not yours. If you want to try a Krabby Patty, Wendy’s SpongeBob’s menu will be available from October 8th. You can find more information at Krabby Patty Kollab website.
