John Amosone of the stars of ‘Good Times’, has passed away at the age of 84.

According to The Hollywood Reporterson of Amos, Kelly Christoper Amosrevealed his passing in a statement reportedly shared on Tuesday, October 1st.
“It is with sincere sadness that I share with you that my father has transitioned,” KC explained. “He was a man with the kindest heart and a heart of gold… and he was loved around the world. Many fans consider him their TV dad. He lived a good life. His legacy will live on in his excellent work on television and film as an actor…”
In his statement, KC briefly reflected on his father’s work as an actor, for Deadline.
“My dad has loved working as an actor his entire life… most recently in ‘Suits LA’ playing himself and our documentary about his life journey as an actor, ‘America’s Dad.’ He was my father, my best friend and my hero,” he added. “Thank you for your prayers and support at this time.”
Ultimately, KC reportedly shared that her father “transitioned” on August 21 while in Los Angeles, California. John reportedly passed away from natural causes.
According to DeadlineJohn Amos’ career spanned more than five decades. He also starred in the television series ‘The Mary Tyler Moore Show’ and the critically acclaimed miniseries, ‘Roots’. In addition to her big-screen career, Amos has reportedly pursued stage projects, such as her role in the “one-man show, ‘Halley’s Comet…’”
“We are very proud to have represented John. He was not only a remarkable talent, but also a deeply kind and generous soul. His impact on the industry and those who knew him will never be forgotten,” said Julia Buchwald, president of Buchwald’s representation agency, for Deadline.
