The advance rent and/or co-housing subsidy scheme for people affected by the extreme situation floods September 2023 phenomena in Thessaly and neighboring areas affected by name “Daniel” institutionalize it Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
In particular, the Joint Decision of the Ministers of National Economy and Finance, Digital Governance and Climate Crisis and Civil Protection was issued under data 72251/DAEFK-KE/A36/28.9.2024 which was published in the Official Gazette 5443/Β΄ / 30.9.2024.
The aforementioned Joint Ministerial Decision was issued in order to include a broader regime, the advance rent/cohabitation subsidy for up to 15 months with presentation of a declaration of responsibility for beneficiaries in the first quarter.
The process
The initial subsidy can be granted upon application – responsible declaration as follows:
1. Owners and users of the free concession of main residence with their own house for use (“green”/category C) who have received a subsidy for the first quarter, can immediately receive the subsidy corresponding to the remaining 3 quarters, upon presentation of the respective declaration, to complete the 12 months (if they also received the second quarter, they receive two more quarters), and at the same time the obligation to present the necessary supporting documents no later than three months after the end of the fourth quarter.
2. Owners and users of a free housing subsidy with an unadapted house (“yellow” and “red”) who have received a subsidy for the first quarter, can immediately receive the corresponding subsidy for a further 4 quarters, upon presentation of the respective declaration, to who complete the 15 months (if they have received the second quarter, they receive three more quarters), and with the parallel obligation to present the necessary supporting documents no later than one month after the end of the fifth quarter.
Interested parties can submit an application – responsible declaration of initial subsidy, which brings a digital document certificate through the Unified Digital Portal of Public Administration (gov.gr – ΕΣΤ), to the competent department, at the electronic address (email protected).
The dates
Regarding the implementation dates of the regime, it is expected that interested parties may submit an application:
- Until 11/15/2024, if the applicant has been considered eligible for the temporary housing subsidy for the 1st quarter, by decision of the competent body, which was issued by 9/30/2024.
- Within 1 (one) month from the issuance of the decision, by which the applicant is considered eligible for the granting of a temporary housing subsidy for the 1st quarter, by decision of the competent body, after 30.9.2024.
The date for submitting the application – responsible declaration of advance allowance – is assumed if the respective email message is received after 3pm on a working day – the following working day.
If, after final verification, it is determined that the applicant is not the final beneficiary of the subsidy, the competent body will take measures for the immediate return to the Greek State of double the total amount granted.
