At least 7 civilians were killed in a Russian attack on Tuesday morning near a market in central Kherson in southern Ukraine, close to the front line, the Region said.
“Three women and four men” died in the attack. Three people were also injured, according to the same source.
The attack hit an area “near a market and a bus stop”, the prosecutor’s office said, adding that an investigation had been launched. The region’s governor, Oleksandr Prokhudin, posted a video from the scene on Telegram, in which several bodies can be seen lying on the ground.
The head of the municipality’s military administration, Roman Mrotsko, told Telegram that four people were injured in the Russian attack: three women aged between 33 and 68 and a 65-year-old man.
The only regional capital to be captured by Russia when it launched its invasion of Ukraine in early 2022, the city of Kherson, which had a population of almost 280,000 before the war, was liberated along with part of the region of the same name by the Ukrainian Army. in November of the same year.
