Safaa Ahmed, a well-known Syrian television presenter, was killed in an Israeli attack in Damascus, Syrian state news agency SANA reported. Two more people were killed by the same blow.
“The General Authority for Radio and Television announces the death of presenter Safaa Ahmed as a witness following the treacherous Israeli attack on the capital, Damascus,” the statement said.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense announced that the Israeli army attacked Damascus with drones and planes at around 02:00 local time, coming “from the direction of the occupied Golan Heights”.
“Our air defense systems neutralized the missiles and drones of the attack and shot down most of them,” the ministry said in a statement, adding that three civilians were killed and nine others were injured as a result of the attack.
Videos posted on social media and geotagged by CNN show that an explosion occurred near the Syria Telecom building, west of the city’s military airport. Additional footage obtained by CNN shows a car catching fire after the explosion.
It is unclear whether this is where Ahmed or the others were killed, and the location of their deaths was not reported by SANA.
When asked by CNN about the information, the Israeli military responded: “We do not comment on foreign media reports.”
