Jimmy CarterBezerra’s milestone birthday is an extra celebration worth having… the former president’s 100th birthday makes history as he becomes the longest-living president.
The longtime politician turned 100 on Tuesday… after spending the last 19 months in hospice care. He is the only US president to live to be 100 years old.
Carter served as the 39th president of the United States, after previously serving as the 76th governor of Georgia. The former president has always dedicated himself to service… whether it was his time in the Navy or his volunteer work at Habitat for Humanity.
And Carter plans to continue fulfilling his civic duty ahead of this year’s presidential election. According to Carter’s grandson, Jason Carterthe longtime Democrat hopes to stay alive long enough to “vote for Kamala Harris.”
However, Carter certainly took a big step back from the spotlight… making a rare public appearance at his wife’s Rosalynn Carterfuneral in November. The former first lady passed away at age 96 after battling dementia and other health issues.
Carter himself is struggling physically and has been confined to a wheelchair in service to his wife.
Although Tuesday marked Carter’s big birthday, a star-studded tribute concert was held last month in Atlanta in his honor.
The event, titled “Jimmy Carter 100: A Celebration in Song”, featured performances by Chuck Leavel, D-coolDrive-By Truckers, GROUPLOVE, Erica Church, Maren MorrisWar and Treaty and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Chamber Choir.
The show is scheduled to be broadcast on Georgia Public Broadcasting… and Carter is expected to tune in.
Birthday wishes are expected to pour in for Carter… who has already received a video tribute from the president Joe Biden. In the footage, Biden declared that he admired Carter “very much” and wished him a happy birthday.
As former President Jimmy Carter turns 100 on October 1, President Biden honors Carter’s decades of public service and humanitarian work, as well as his hopeful vision for our country and his tireless commitment to a better world. https://t.co/jxAhEYqs0T pic.twitter.com/Ke6B29t2Gv

The White House also placed a “100” display on the North Lawn in honor of the important milestone.
In our best Marilyn Monroe voice we added… “Happy birthday, Mr. President. Happy birthday to you!!!”
