Shelby Daniele – the star of school and discipline who died today at the age of 23 last month – passed away from a brain aneurysm… said the father of her close friend.
Brian Brandenburg – whose daughter, Evededicated to Cal Poly this year in large part because of Shelby – revealed the sad news in an emotional post on his Facebook page.
“The young woman who was the driving force in Eva’s decision to run the Monitor at Cal Poly, Shelby Daniele, passed away last night from a brain aneurysm (sic),” he wrote. “Totally moving.”
“This is Eva’s third day of training and practice,” he added. “Hug your children whenever you can and tell them you love them every day. Please say a prayer for Shelby and her family.”
Varsity introduced Shelby is dying over the weekend, praising her for her experience on the track… while calling her a “considered one of a kind” who “will be greatly missed by everyone in the Cal Poly community.” However, faculty directors did not release a reason for the death at the time.
Daniele – Cal Poly’s team captain – has earned All-Huge West honors six times. She also had a high school track record in the indoor 200-meter dash.
She had just graduated from university in June – and promised on her LinkedIn page to try to “improve the environment and bring it back to our society” in the future.
TO TEAR APART.
