“While Israel commits genocide in Gaza and terrorist attacks in Lebanon, at the same time it tries, with all kinds of provocations, to drag the countries of the region into its fire,” Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said from the House floor. Turkish National Assembly, on the occasion of his speech at the beginning of the new legislature.
Tayyip Erdogan stated that “after Palestine and Lebanon, the Israeli government motivated by the illusion of the Promised Land, he will target my homelandS. Occupation, terrorism and aggression are right next to us. Before us we do not have a State governed by law, but a murderous pack that feeds on blood and thrives on possession.”
“The consequences will not be similar to the previous ones”
The Turkish president also stated that “Israeli aggression includes Turkey” and added that “for our homeland, for our nation and for our independence, we will confront this state terrorism with all the means at our disposal”.
“I clearly warn Israel, the consequences of its ground operation in Lebanon will not be similar to those of its previous occupations” said, among others, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, without clarifying what these consequences would be, and stressed that “while the world system is fundamentally shaken, our Parliament will guide both our country and our geography with dignity, common sense and consent”.
