Diddy is once again trying to be released on bail, 2 weeks after being arrested… and we’re told he’s building a powerful legal team to try to make that a reality.
New court documents show that the rap mogul’s attorney has filed a motion to appeal the most recent order denying him bail… the appeal will be his third formal attempt to secure his release from prison while he awaits trial.
Sources close to Diddy told TMZ… the rapper has hired 2 more lawyers – Anthony Rico and Alexandra Shapiro – to the legal team working on his highly publicized criminal case. (For those wondering, Alexandra is no related to famous defense lawyer Robert Shapiro).
We were told that Tony is known as one of the best trial lawyers in the country, and Alexandra has been considered one of the best appellate lawyers practicing today. It looks like Diddy is building his own dream team.
TMZ broke the story… Diddy was arrested by federal agents in Midtown Manhattan, at the Park Hyatt New York hotel, on September 16 and was arraigned the next day in court, where he was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Diddy’s arrest came 6 months after federal agents broke into their homes in Los Angeles and Miami in connection with a sex trafficking investigation.
The father of 7 has denied the various allegations leveled against him in this case and in several civil actions.
The rapper went on to declare yourself innocent to the accusations, with his lawyer, Marc Agnifilolater declaring that the music producer is “an innocent man, with nothing to hide”.
Diddy was bail denied …despite the A-lister’s lawyer promising Diddy to post $50 million bail and having no female visitors – outside the family – if the court allowed him to reside in his Miami home while awaiting trial.
However, after hearing arguments from the prosecution and defense, the U.S. District Judge Andrew Carter refused Diddy’s bail request and declared that “the government has proven the defendant is a danger.”
