Ties between the US and the Republic of Cyprus have never been stronger, notes US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in the congratulatory message issued by the State Department on the celebration of the 64th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Cyprus.
“The Republic of Cyprus and the United States are partners in the pursuit of a more peaceful and prosperous world and share a commitment to democracy and freedom,” Anthony Blinken said in a statement.
The head of American diplomacy expresses Washington’s gratitude for Cyprus’ continued efforts to strengthen the rule of law. It also refers to Cyprus’ leadership role in regional security issues and the continued assistance it has provided to support civilians in times of crisis.
As he highlights, “the ties between our nations have never been stronger and we hope to continue to deepen our bilateral relations”.

As for the Cypriotthe US Secretary of State makes it clear that Washington remains fully committed to the UN framework that envisages a comprehensive agreement under the leadership of Cyprus for the reunification of the island based on a bi-zonal and bi-communal federation with political equality for all Cypriots.
