The appointment of Sofia Zisi, director general of Química Geral do Estado, to the position of president of the board of directors of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) constitutes an international distinction for the Independent Tax Authority.
Sophia Zisi was elected to lead the organization’s work in the coming years, following a vote by councilors.
The AADE director general succeeds Paul Krajnik of the Austrian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management, who served as president for two full terms.
The commander of AADE, Giorgos Pitsilis, congratulated Sofia Zisi, highlighting: “We are particularly happy for this international distinction, which is the result of the hard work carried out by the AADE Chemical Service to protect public health and the environment”.
