Al B. Of course! Shares your cease and desist order on ‘KIM’S LOST WORDS’
On Sunday, September 29, Sure took to Instagram for a reel featuring screenshots of his cease and desist order with his over 21,000 followers. The video apparently revealed that the request originated on Thursday, September 26th.
Additionally, the singer’s caption revealed that he is demanding a retraction and a “widely publicized” apology for the memoir. According to Sure, the “fabricated” novel, published by Mr. Todd Christopher Guzze and distributed by Amazon, defamed him.
“…Demand for retraction and apology – Defamation of Al B. Of course! (Albert Joseph Brown III) by Todd Christopher Guzze (aka Chris Todd and Jamal T. Millwood), and Amazon for recklessly distributing a fabricated book without conducting even a minimal investigation into its legitimacy or the background of its publisher,” Sure’s caption states.
Additionally, Sure’s party states that he is also demanding compensatory and punitive damages from Guzze and Amazon.
More details about the singer’s legal action
On Friday, September 27th, Page six published an exclusive report revealing more details about the Sure cease-and-desist. According to Sure’s outlet and screenshots, the novel allegedly falsely claims that the singer “engaged in…sexual conduct with Sean Combs.”
“By misrepresenting his personal life and fabricating false and serious allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior, these defamatory allegations have caused significant harm to Mr. Brown’s (Al B. Sure) reputation,” the first page of the order reads.
Additionally, the singer is requesting that Guzze and Amazon stop selling the memoir within ten days of issuing the order.
“If you do not comply with these demands within ten days, we will have no alternative but to resort to all available legal remedies, including filing a lawsuit for defamation,” the order adds.
According to the outlet, Sure directly reacted to the book’s claim about him and Combs with a brief statement.
“Apart from me, I have nothing to do with any activity of this nature. It’s the most disgusting, heinous lie I’ve ever heard in my life,” he said.
Kim Porter’s Kids Recently Addressed the Memoir
As The Shadow Room Previously reported, Porter’s son Quincy Brown, who she shares with Sure, and her fellow children Christian, Jessie and D’Lila Combs, who she shares with Diddy, recently reacted to the memoir.
“Claims that our mother wrote a book are simply false. She didn’t do that. And anyone who claims to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves,” read part of the statement.

Additionally, Guzze recently spoke with Rolling Stone about Porter’s supposed memoir. At the time, he seemed oblique in his response to the novel’s validity.
“If someone held my feet to the fire and said, ‘Life or death, is this book real?’ I must say I don’t know. But it’s real enough for me. Sometimes you just have to get it out there. Maybe not 100% of the book is true, but maybe 80% is,” he said at the time.
