Is Josh Duggar Getting “Special Privileges” Behind Bars?
That’s the claim made by a source after the convicted sex offender was moved to a “renovated” dormitory at Seagoville Federal Correctional Institution in Dallas.
As you probably know, Josh is serving a 151-month sentence on charges of receiving and possessing CSAM (child sexual abuse material).
And to say he was not a model prisoner would be putting it too mildly.
Josh Duggar’s Life Behind Bars
Prison officials disciplined Josh for smuggling in his cell, including an illicit cell phone.
And he allegedly created a chaotic environment in other ways as well, like signing autographs for his fellow prisoners.
But despite all this, it appears that Josh has been receiving preferential treatment from prison administrators.
Josh Duggar’s ‘Special Privileges’ Behind Bars
According to a new report from The SunJosh recently moved into “a remodeled prison dorm with special privileges.”
“They finished painting the walls and putting flowers in Dorm 6, where Josh lives. It was transformed into an honors dormitory,” explains a source.
The source adds that to be entitled to this special accommodation, inmates “cannot have any disciplinary action within a certain period of time, they must have a job and they must sign a code of conduct agreement”.
Josh appears to have received “special treatment” as he does not meet these qualifications.
“Josh apparently doesn’t work, but he’s getting his degree. And they are counting this as an exception so that he can stay”, says the source.
“According to the rules, he would have been disqualified from living there because of the time he spent in the SHU a few years ago, but they decided to waive that for him.”
It’s unclear why Josh would receive special treatment, but the source seems to suggest it’s due to his celebrity status. Fortunately, appellate judges are not so easily influenced.
Josh Duggar’s latest legal defeat
Josh recently filed an appeal with the Supreme Court in an effort to overturn his conviction.
Fortunately, the court rejected his appeal.
And so, Josh will remain behind bars for another nine years or so. We suppose he can take comfort in knowing he’ll be spending these years in a freshly painted dorm room.
