Until October 18, 2024, the deadline for the electronic submission of applications for admission to the seven Professional Experimental Schools (PEPAS) for Learning Public Employment Service (DYPA) for the 2024-2025 academic year in three specialties that are in great demand in the field of tourism and hospitality, which are as follows:
- hotel customer reception,
- culinary art,
- livelihood.
Those who are 18 years of age or older and have at least a high school diploma can apply. For the specialty “hotel receptionist” a good knowledge of a foreign language (English, French or German) is required.

Specifically, the path is: gov.gr → Education → Enrollment in school → Enrollment in DYPA Experimental Professional School.
PEPAS operates in seven cities (Athens, Thessaloniki, Corfu, Crete, Mitilini, Patras and Rhodes) and applies the dual education system, which combines theoretical and laboratory professional training at the School with the on-the-job learning program under conditions real work (on-the-job training). It is intended that the trainee acquires the necessary theoretical knowledge, but also professional experience in the job market.
The theoretical part is implemented at PEPAS from November to April, while the internship in companies takes place from May to October, with a workload of 8 hours a day, five days a week. Students’ remuneration during their internship in companies amounts to 176 euros per week.
For the operation of EPAS Experimental, DYPA collaborates with the Hellenic-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Institute of the Association of Hellenic Tourist Companies (INSETE), which have extensive experience in the field of professional education and tourism. As mentioned in a related statement, the collaboration guarantees placement in internships in prominent businesses in the tourism sector (4* and 5* hotels), but also reinforces the perspective of professional rehabilitation, after completing studies.

EPAS Experimental students:
undertake a paid and insured workplace learning program,
study in modern, fully equipped laboratories and receive the necessary books and aids,
are trained by experienced and highly qualified teachers,
receive a housing allowance, which has been doubled to 240 euros per month, as well as a food allowance, which has been increased to 9 euros per day, with expanded income criteria,
are entitled to study leave, up to 30 days, with salary and postponement of recruitment.
