The historic 42nd Spartathlon long-distance race, 245 kilometers long, was concluded offering moments of excitement, joy, satisfaction and excitement for the runners, volunteers and people who watched for another year.
Remarkable was the massive presence of the public, not only in Sparta, which exceeded the race’s goal of 245 km, but along the entire route.
As the weather conditions were not ideal for these races due to the high temperatures, Fotis Zisimopoulos finished first with a time of 20:18.43, followed by Uruguayan Fernando Martines and third by Frenchman Robin Florian.
In the Women’s category, the top three were completed by Finland’s Hokala Noora, Spain’s Carmen Maria Perez and Norway’s Lain Kaliskaner.
In fifth place, but the first Greek, was Jo Manda, followed by Despina Simandrakou.
