Maya Rodolfois bringing the “fun aunt” energy back to “Saturday Night Live” … appearing in her Emmy-winning role as Vice President Kamala Harris — and she wasn’t the only alumna of the show entering the political satire arena.
The comedic actress donned her best pantsuit for the 50th season premiere of the legendary comedy variety show … telling the audience that her fun-loving aunt was back at Studio 8H during Saturday’s cold open.

During the part, Rudolph’s Kamala tells jokes about donald trumpher viral face during the debate and even her husband, Doug Emhoff before introducing his running mate to the public Tim Walz …played by the comedian, Jim Gaffigan.
Gaffigan represents Walz’s image as a down-to-earth Midwestern American… joking that he actually bought his suit at Costco and adding that it has BDE – Big Dad Energy.

There were a few other cameos that really got the audience excited… with ‘SNL’ alums Dana Carvey and Andy Samberg officially assuming the role of president Joe Biden and second husband Doug Emhoff respectively.
Carvey stopped very much like Biden… repeating the same three or four slogans. Samberg, like Emhoff, spoke to his significant other — and got uncomfortably intimate at the beginning of the interaction.
It’s no surprise that Maya will return to play Kamala… her portrayal became an instant classic in 2020 – leading to her winning an Emmy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.
With the election just a few weeks away, we imagine this won’t be the last we see of Maya…or her fellow ‘SNL’ alum in their new roles.
