The Israeli military launched attacks on the port and electrical infrastructure of Hodeidah, a city in western Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels, local TV channel Al Massirah reported.
The Israeli armed forces, in turn, announced that “dozens” of fighter jets participated in this operation.
“During a large-scale air operation today, dozens of fighter planes (…) attacked targets for military use by the Houthi terrorist regime in the Ras Issa and Hodeidah areas of Yemen,” said army spokesman Captain David Abraham .
The targets included a power station and the port where oil is imported into Yemen.
The Houthis, allies of Iran and Hezbollah, opened a front against Israel in solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza. On Saturday, they claimed responsibility for launching a missile at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport.
