Exit polls show an advantage for the far-right Freedom Party (FPÖ), shortly after the polls closed in Austria.
In particular, the far-right party leads with 29.1% (+13 in the 2019 elections).
In second place with 26.2% (-11.2) is Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s center-right People’s Party (ÖVP), while in third place is the Socialist Party (SPÖ) with 20.4% (-0.8).
They follow the liberal NEOS with 8.8% (+0.7) and the Greens with 8.6% (-5.3). With the voter measure at 3%, it is likely to finally secure its entry into parliament and the Communist Party (KPÖ) for the first time since the 1950s, as it stands at 2.9% (+2.3) .
