“This afternoon, Friday, September 27, 2024, the planned “Researcher Night” event would take place at the Averof building of the National Technical University in the center of Athens, with honored guests and free entry for teachers and students.
The Greek Police, to ensure the event in question, took the necessary order and security measures, outside and around the building.
Shortly after the start of the event, people entered the building and verbally attacked and threw objects at the guests, so the Rectory informed the Greek Police to intervene.
Greek Police forces immediately entered the venue and removed the guests to safety, while 22 arrivals have been made so far.
A preliminary investigation is carried out by the State Security Sub-Directorate of the Attica Security Directorate.”
