Legend of the Bengals Willie Anderson is running to Joe Burrowprotection of … saying TMZ Sports Activities Anyone blaming the quarterback for Cincinnati’s early-season woes is completely misplaced.
The former offensive lineman slammed the JB haters during an interview with us on Tuesday — about 24 hours after the Bengals fell to 0-3 with a “Monday Night Soccer” loss to the Commanders.
“That’s ridiculous, bro,” Anderson advised us about the criticism of Burrow. “Like, they’re in these video games because of him. It’s just completely ridiculous.”
After all, there were plenty online who disagreed… as followers flocked to social media after the 38-33 L to say the 27-year-old signal caller wasn’t doing enough to secure wins. Even the former Super Bowl champion Chris Canty said on ESPN Radio that Burrow just wanted to do more.

However, Anderson clearly wouldn’t assume the former LSU star is the problem by any means… explaining that mishaps on the team’s defense — plus a lack of hustle — are the real issues.
“To look at (Monday) night sports,” he said, “and say any blame should be placed on Joe Burrow (Monday) night if you score 30-something points — it’s just ridiculous.”
The Bengals will have a chance to prove themselves in a few days — they play the Panthers on Sunday morning — and according to Anderson, Burrow is one of the biggest reasons fans should be optimistic that a change will be made soon.
“As long as he’s healthy and whole,” the former All-Pro representative said, “it gives him an opportunity to get this thing back on track.”
