After Waffle House reportedly closed its doors to one employee, Latto has opened another! The rapper recently joined a woman who took part in the “Brokey” challenge with some of her coworkers. Finally, the woman believed to be called Yadira Ramirez, went viral after claiming the breakfast restaurant fired her for the challenge video.

Here’s What Yadira Ramirez Says Happened to Waffle House
To contextualize, on September 15, Latto took to X (formerly Twitter) and challenged her fans to create videos for her song ‘Brokey’, which debuted on her latest album, Sugar Honey Iced Tea. The challenge was Latto’s reaction to people criticizing the financial privileges she bragged about in her lyrics.
“I hate that you guys think I was calling hard workers broke. So I’m giving away $10k to whoever makes the best video on their work for broke and I’ll get you to be in the music video… no more waiting for your birthday to leave town. Tag me and hashtag it #Brokey so I can see them all.”
Less than a week ago, Yadira shared a 27-second video of five or so Waffle House employees, including herself, taking part in the Latto challenge. In six days, the clip has racked up over 23.4 million views, over 3.7 million likes, and nearly 19,000 comments. Her creativity really spoke to TikTok users, from the “Brokey” receipt to the employees using signature WH foods, like waffles, as video props.
Yadira makes her only appearance in the video 16 seconds later to hum the lyrics, “Yeah, I talk a lot of shit. He likes who you think you are…” The video then cuts to another employee.

Two days after Yadira shared Waffle House’s ‘Brokey’ challenge on TikTok, she returned to the platform with an update. In 42 seconds, she explained that the company fired her “one day” after the ‘Brokey’ challenge went live.
“A day after posting a video that literally doesn’t hurt anyone. That everyone was literally cheering and happy about. But whatever, it’s my decision, it’s my move…” Yadira said, also claiming that Waffle House has placed her on a “do not rehire” list.
Ramirez also stated that he worked at the restaurant for six years, from the age of 16 to 22. “All the bullshit I dealt with, thank you,” she added.
@yadirajramirez1 I’m so pissed. Like, you guys don’t understand the bullshit I did to this company to get fired over a video where I was literally rooting for them. Bullshit. Serious bullshit.
In a follow-up videoYadira Ramirez clarified that she was the only person who appeared in the challenge who was fired. Additionally, she revealed that two managers were on site when the employees filmed the ‘Brokey’ challenge, but they chose not to participate. Additionally, she stated that company policy does not prohibit phones, only badmouthing the company.
@yadirajramirez1 Please note that I do not encourage anyone to be fired over this video… it is never that serious.
Latto replaces dismissed employee
The Atlanta rapper wasted no time in redeeming Yadira, however. In an update on September 24, Ramirez appeared in the studio with Latto. The two did a little twerking to “Brokey” and then Yadira did a stack the artist gave her to rain on them! See the link below.
