PASOK presidential candidate Haris Doukas was asked to take a position on the issue of Turkish provocation.
Asked specifically by journalist Giorgos Kouvaras: “I heard you in the PASOK Central Committee say that the patriotic PASOK would turn Greece upside down with what happened in the summer in Kasos. I want to ask you: if you were prime minister, would you extend the territorial waters up to twelve nautical miles in the Aegean? I remind you that no PASOK government has done this so far.”
Doukas said the following: “We responded by saying that what happened in Kasos is not simply a critical issue for sovereign rights, it is national sovereignty. Because in fact a cable was laid for the electrification of Cyprus and the Turks came and we left aron aron and I think as PASOK we only stood on a statement and I expressed this to the Central Committee, that we should turn the world upside down because Erdogan has a revisionist approach and creates serious problems. And we have to have clear red lines.”
“We need to have clear red lines and the EEZ issue and only that to be resolved in The Hague and nothing else,” he added.
