“An independent Islamic state, in Tirana, is imagined by Rama inside Albania and close to our borders, setting fire to the Aimos peninsula,” states, among others, the “Spartans” party, in its announcement tonight.
At the same time, he cites a related New York Times article, according to which “Rama’s plans include the establishment of an independent Bektashi state, modeled after the Vatican, with its own administration and passports, to be called a ‘Sovereign State.’ The headquarters of the ‘Bektasi’ Order (a Shiite Sufi order founded in the 13th century in Turkey), will be established in Tirana and will aim to ‘promote tolerance and peaceful coexistence.'”
As the party also notes, “Albania is thus creating problems in the region, trying to provoke Iran’s reaction and gain US support, and cultivating relations with Turkey, which has historical ties with the Bektashis.”
Finally, the “Spartans” argue that “the Greek government is probably closely following developments in order to respond with some stern response to Rama, who is now laughing, not behind our backs, but in front of us.”
