Shooting Indecent Proposal shortly after the birth of daughter Scout Willis in 1991, Demi Moore says she used to commute about 60 miles to and from work every day.
Demi Moore is trying to re-establish her relationship with her body and some of the unhealthy habits she previously used to lose weight.
While showing in CBS Sunday MorningThe 61-year-old actress appeared to open up about the “crazy” lengths she put her body through to conform to beauty standards at the time.
“I put a lot of stress on myself,” Moore told host Tracy Smith. “And I had experiences of being told to lose weight and all of that. While they may have been embarrassing and humiliating, that’s what I did to myself because of it.”
Moore revealed that he started taking photos Indecent Proposal just months after the birth of her second daughter, Scout Willis, in 1991. To lose the pregnancy weight, she commuted to work by motorcycle every day — about 60 miles.

“I feel like[Scout]was like 5-6 months old before we started taking pictures,” she explained. “I would feed her at night, wake up at dawn with a bus with lights, ride my bike to Paramount, even to where we were taking pictures, then take pictures all day, which is usually a 12-hour day, and then start at another time.”
“Even just thinking about what I did to my physique; it’s so crazy, so ridiculous,” she continued. “But you look back and you kind of think, ‘Did it really matter that much?’ Probably not, but at the time I did it, it meant everything.”
Right now, Moore said her self-image “fluctuates,” but she’s in a much better place mentally.
“Some days I look at it and I’m like, ‘Wow, this is really good,’ and some days I find myself dissecting it, hyper-focusing on things that I don’t like,” Moore said. “The difference is that now I can catch myself. I can say, ‘Yeah, I don’t like this loose skin, but you know, it is what it is. So I’m going to make the most of what is instead of chasing what isn’t.’”
In Moore’s newest film, The Substanceshe explores this concept of self-image and aging, enjoying Elizabeth Sparkle, a celebrity who experiments with a black market drug to create a young model of herself named Sue, played by Margaret Qualley.

Talking to Individuals At the film’s premiere earlier this month, Moore said he hopes viewers will be kinder to themselves after watching the thriller.
“I mean, I really hope that not just for women, but for women and men alike, that they walk away discovering a little bit more kindness toward themselves. Just a little bit more compassion,” she said.
Her daughters, Scout, Rumer and Tallulah, who she shares with her ex, Bruce Willisalso spoke to the outlet about how their mothers’ vision of beauty and physical image influenced theirs.
“I feel like my mom has always been a role model for feeling good on the inside, because I feel like there are people who think they look so exquisitely gorgeous on the outside, but still feel so insecure and struggle so much,” Scout said. “So I feel like she fostered in all of us a real desire to just feel gorgeous, to feel attractive, to feel embodied.”
