The presidential candidate of PASOK – Movement for Change, Anna DiamantopoulouIn the context of her television interview, she discussed both her goals for the party if elected to the leadership, while also revealing who she might appoint as head of the party’s KO.
Initially, Ms. Diamantopoulou, referring to her vision for the PASOKHe stressed that “the goal is for PASOK to be the first party. When we achieve this, we need to know what the general environment is and how the parties have evolved. SYRIZA dissolved in zero years, ND lost 13 points in one year. Is it possible to lose 20 points in two years? So we must look at the general picture.”
The PASOK presidential candidate, speaking to Mega, was asked to respond to the criticism she receives from her internal opponents within the party, saying that in 12 years she has not gone anywhere, not even to another party. “My only collaboration was in the OECD, where I competed globally with 10 other personalities. I am firmly in the social-democratic camp,” she added.
At the same time, responding criticism that he accepts that he is running for president PASOK’s Anna Diamantopoulou, while not in Parliament, said: “It is important to maintain some basic values. Mr Geroulanos himself said that it is very important that one can be in the party and the other in Parliament because they both want a lot of work. If I win, why shouldn’t I be president and Mr. Geroulanos not be the head of KO? There is a possibility of cooperation, we will do everything. PASOK must be reorganized. The president of PASOK must work on Greece, bring back the youth, enter society, define a strategy.”
He also stressed that, of all the candidates, he is the one with the most parliamentary experience. “Parliamentary life is not just rhetoric against Mitsotakis or against anyone. It is positions, it is how you extend powers,” he noted.
Your vision for PASOK
“PASOK wants a programming direction that is relevant to the 21st century. The conversation in the country is as if we were in the last century. I propose cooperation between the public and private sectors. The state should play a role in bringing production into the private sector, because there is no development and there is no country without industry. The second is the welfare state. It is not enough to give money to the National Health System for doctors. It wants a comprehensive reform,” commented Ms Diamantopoulou.
“I am presenting a portfolio, which has local, ministerial and European government as a European Commissioner. I have placed it at the disposal of my faction and then of my country,” concluded the PASOK presidential candidate.
