The Ministries of Economy and National Finance and Infrastructure and Transport announced, following the signing of the contract for the provision of financing, operation, maintenance and use of services Attica Roadon 12 September 2024, that the handover by the Hellenic State of the Attica Highway to the new concessionaire (Nea Attiki Odos SA) will take place on Sunday 6 October 2024.
In this context, by then, the procedures for transitioning the road axis to the new concession regime will have been completed, that is, among others, the ratification of the concession contract by Parliament and the financial closing of the transaction with the single payment of the price.
To this end, the competent Directorates of the existing concessionaire and the new concessionaire have recently been in direct cooperation for the successful completion of the process, under the guidance of the Greek State – TAIPED.
It should be noted that with the collection of the price of 3.27 billion euros, which is the highest ever achieved in the TAIPED tender process, the country’s public debt is reduced by the same amount, almost 1.5 percentage points of GDP.
