Starting his contacts in New York where he is in the context of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs George Gerapetritewill participate, today, Sunday, September 22, in the Ministerial Working Dinner for the Middle East, which will be attended by Arab and European foreign ministers.
On Monday, 23 September, Mr Gerapetritis will participate in the Ministerial Meeting of the informal group of Friends of the Western Balkans, in the presence of the Foreign Ministers of the Western Balkans.
He will then attend a meeting of EU foreign ministers, whose agenda includes developments in the Middle East and Ukraine. European foreign ministers will have the opportunity to exchange views with Ukraine’s new foreign minister, Andrii Sybiha.
On the sidelines of the General Assembly’s work, Gerapetritis will hold separate bilateral meetings with the foreign ministers of Bolivia, North Macedonia, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
In view of Greece’s two-year mandate (2025-2026) as an elected member of the United Nations Security Council, the Minister of Foreign Affairs will chair the Ministerial Working Dinner for the coordination of the actions of the elected and newly elected members (Greece, Denmark, Pakistan, Panama, Somalia) of the Security Council (E10 + I5).
