Atlantic Records announced a major restructuring on Thursday, affecting hundreds of jobs… and Nicki Minaj has some indirect advice for the fired executives from his arch-nemesis Cardi B‘s label!!!
CEO of Warner Music Robert Kynclé sent an email to employees warning them of the potential bad news — fuel for Nicki’s excitement as she torched them in a post on X.
Dear laid-off executives and A&Rs:
Don’t be mad, UPS is hiring.
Also, feel free to submit your resume for a job opening @ #HeavyOnTheBone. photo.twitter.com/yxay1l6gQP

Nicki invited the recently laid-off workers to her label in a provocative post… “Dear laid-off execs and A&Rs: Don’t be mad, UPS is hiring. Also, feel free to send in your resumes for an opening @ #HeavyOnIt”… and included a Phaedra Parks GIF to add shadow!!!
Some of you are caught up in a lot of mythology about the business, but you really don’t need to turn over rocks to find “the real truth” in this game. It’s broad daylight. photo.twitter.com/vitxw80dUa

She twists the knife in another post — “They’re wanting empty arenas so bad. Obsessing over me while all your friends are getting fired is a disgusting job.”
It’s been a bumpy week for Warner Music. Veteran executive Kevin Liles resigned abruptly this week and variety reports there will be more people jumping ship as Atlantic’s new CEO Elliot Grainge takes office on October 1st.
The reference to UPS is a reference to The Notorious BIGthe infamous lyrics from “Flava In Ya Ear (Remix)” where he advised rival MCs to get a day job as a package delivery boy… and also strategic on Nicki’s part.
Her Heavy On It label is a partnership with her longtime label Republic Records, which also suffered layoffs this year, and Nicki is clearly trying to turn the tables in her favor.
She has already started working on her next album, “Pink Friday 3”, and the reinforcements would benefit her next steps.
That is, if any former Atlantic rep is willing to call her “boss.”
