Several members of the famed esports organization FaZe Clan became the latest victims of swatting on Thursday … when police showed up at their homes with guns drawn after receiving a 911 call about a double murder.
TMZ Sports Cops are said to have rushed to the streamer’s Los Angeles home around 2:30 p.m. PT … after a man who claimed to be in his 60s claimed to have killed his mother and brother — but someone was still breathing inside the residence.
The caller told the operator the same location where FaZe Clan was holding its current “subathon” — a long-running event that streamers participate in to increase subscribers.
In fact, the cameras were rolling when officers arrived on the scene… and screams could be heard before they muted the feed.
We’re told the responding officers naturally took the call seriously… turning on their lights and sirens with an ambulance in tow as they headed to the home.
Upon arriving at the scene, the officers raised their weapons as they approached the front door… and asked over a megaphone for everyone inside to come out, one by one.
The members inside — including popular personalities Adapt — cooperated fully and were handcuffed as soon as they left the house.
After searching the house, the cops obviously didn’t find anything out of the ordinary… and explained to the FaZe guys what had happened. They then filed a swatting report.
Swatting has become a big issue for celebrities… with names like Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne, Rihanna and a bunch of streamers being targeted by a sick prank.
