The European Parliament’s Budget Committee will meet on Monday 23 September.
On the agenda, among others, will be the vote on the Mobilization of the European Union Solidarity Fund to provide assistance to Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Greece and France in connection with six natural disasters occurring in 2023, with the rapporteur being ND (EPP) Deputy Giorgos Autias.
The proposed decision will release almost €1 million to Member States. The EU Solidarity Fund was set up to provide support in the event of natural disasters and in 2020, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, its scope was expanded to include public health emergencies under the Corona Response Investment Initiative.
